❝She
is one of the most bravest and sweetest humans I've come across. The
name of this adorable lady is Kamla. She is 90 years old yet so strong.
Behind her smile lies all the difficulties she has faced. She lost her
husband and in a way both her kids as well. The elder daughter abandoned
her and the younger one who was taking care of her died in her arms.
She lost her grandson in a car accident as
well. Yet after all this she smiles. Her unblemished smile and her
prepossessing personality made me fall in love with her. When I met her I
asked her, "Is there anything you want or need?" and she replied
"Daughter". The bond between her and her younger daughter brought tears
in my eyes. This is love. We often question ourselves. What is love?
This right here, is love. It is endearment, affection everything. Kamla inspired me. She made me realize the importance of my parents and more than that she made me realize what love is.
Before I left, I touched her feet. She hesitated and said "Amma, nahi".
My reply to that was "Amma nahi beti. You are my Amma (Hindi for
Mother). And I need your blessings". She smiled at me with tears in her
eyes and said, " Jaldi aana, beti (Come as soon as possible daughter).❞ - Neha Jain |
